On the contemptible and inadequate state of the black woman's character
As with all things a person can't have, the notion of Kimora Lee catch-snacking makes her more attractive.
Busta Rhymes Speaks on dead body guard.
"Our condolences and prayers go out to his family..."
Lil Wayne, "Fuck Mixtape DJs!" as he takes a shit on the mix tape industry/game. DJ Doo Wop takes a shit back on him.
Some say it was syrup. Some say it was "weed x20" that made him flip out. It was most probably coke & a big ego. That underground game takes some responsibility for Wayne's success via Cash Money's beginnings & will probably contribute to his ultimate demise. It can happen (see:Britney Spears).
Dude, where's my Detroit Rap song with tricked out bag pipes beat? DirtyMitten.com's will the thrill blogs Paradime's "Spill at Will".
The lifespan on second chances is at least shortly more than one year. Nathaniel Abraham is locked up again.
Another Jay Smooth gem found surfing archives at illdoctrine.com's archives.
"...makes me ponder how Black music's relationship with money has changed between then and now..."--Jay Smooth
There's always a balance between the anger and humor a stupid person's behavior makes possible. Surely, most everyone has watched the video with the girl verbally declaring war on an old lady.
Byron Crawford's blog, having a seemingly endless supply of humor-laced commentary, didn't fail to keep the balance for me by sharing this video:
Obie Trice & some Cleveland versus Detroit footage
Updates: Added featured video to the featured video tab in the sidebar & added random Detroit videos in the sidebar that are accessible from the menu by clicking "videos".
Lately I've been checking out some female Detroit rappers and found this group. I thought it was cute enough to share.
Al Nuke, Al Wissam, & now Al Profit. About Profit's new movie profiling Detroit:
Jay Williams, 29, a West Bloomfield resident who grew up in Detroit, bought the film shortly after it was released. " 'Murder City' is a great depiction of Detroit without sugarcoating it. It's Detroit raw and uncut, that's actually how Detroit really is," he says. "I come from the late '80s dope era, and because I used to be in the streets, I can relate to it a lot. It's almost to the point to where it's sad, but that's life, and that's unfortunate, and this is place where a lot of us grow up."
What is a CD peddler? From my experience, it can be anyone who makes rhymes in order to sell CDs. Sincere (and good) artists make music because the song won't stay inside them. And, while that's all super idealistic, it's my story & I'm sticking to it. From my experience, CD peddlers saturate the underground & local markets with so much bullshit rap music.
A rapper (and I'm being liberal with the term here) said, "...my ass fat, I get it from my moma, niggas want to eat it like Jeffrey Dahmer...".
Here are the rules for female cd peddlers:
Last night I watched busta rhyme & linkin park's video on youtube. A few things occurred to me:
Mr. Duey, a southgate teacher & rapper making news. He's probably the wackest unwack rapper around. Good looks from DJ Duey. Seriously, the video is a good look. It's just that, well, he's not kicking the game to kids like this:
Another three reasons I love blogging & the internet. Three great blog interviews with the industry:
You (never) know what imeem searches for Detroit Rap will turn up.
Big herks lyrics on this track sting something like a bazooka. I love music so gritty, listening to it feels like eating chunks of sidewalk.
Video:If Bill O'Reilly was a rapper. Even more interesting than that video & that the rhyme is actually, really, very tight, is the video parody of Soulja Boy hating on the presidential debate politics video. Seriously, Jay Smooth is nice.
Freestyle battles in Detroit a year ago. 6 mile & Greenfield. Check out the line "I'll beat you & your hype man, with your mic-stand". Yeah, I've heard it before, but it's still nice to hear...in moderation.
After watching Detroit rapper Cha Cha in concert with Royce, I got an urge to hear some of her stuff.
MetroMix Detroit: Beer & Boom Bap. Detroit artists Tasherre D’Enajetic, Ajax, Old Dave, Da Bash Brotherz, RTKUL8, DJ Gruv and Rising Sunz,. Shouts out to Boom Box Entertainment, what up doe. (psst out to Boom Box Entertainment, tighten up that myspace page. A brother hates horizontal scrolling)
If you enjoy Tone Tone check out the song Jockin':
And, because I really like when Detroit rappers put out the southwest swagger, choppy, syth-horn sound, here's some classic Tone Tone-I'm From Detroit
Arabs have more G: A look at the Arab store owner & Hip-Hop relationship in Chicago. This mafia-esque behavior by Arabs is what you'll find in most Detroit party stores & can't escape in Dearborn.
I didn't know invincible is involved with Grace Lee Boggs' communist, misandry & sustainability cult.
By the way, Happy Belated Birthday DJ Houseshoes. I, er...didn't realized I missed it.
You know how you start digging a rhyme and th, th, th, th, then th th th the dude drops the ball?
Straight outta Ecorse, born & raised in Chi-town comes "Detroit's Own Bad Guy". Yeah... alright DJ DAN with your DownriverMixx. Sounding like Kraftwerk & Detroit's Jeff Mills/the Wizard (from the 80's). I'd like it if I were high.
Common thinks playing Green Lantern & being black is an honor. WTF??? Is playing Superman & being white an honor to Reeves?
50 cent gets his chain snatched by a concert goer. In the video, right around 1:40 you'll see Mr. Yellow shirt man run up & do his business on 50's chain like a pimp. But the dude's parents let him know pimping ain't easy.
Ouch. DetroitRap.com's message board gets scorched by member voodoo's open letter to rap niggas. That may have single-handedly changed the behavior of 1/2 (or more) the people attending shows.
Repping the D on Belle Isle, while the Detroit Ruff Ryders stunt, 1 year ago.
They know we 'gon be stuntin', so they come...
Good looks from Bronxrap.com;
A beat Kanye West made for J-Dilla, but never heard himself (whatever that means) is creating such a brouhaha today. I think it's a banging beat, but certainly not his best. Banging, all the same. It's not being received with mixed reviews at all, most people like it. However, one commenter on XXLmag.com (L.Gunslinger, 6th comment) has the following to say:
J-Dilla was heavily over-rated. He had a few good beats, but most of his beats were just rushed 2 bear loops...That is why Dilla wasn’t rich when he died. The track, which I remind you is banging, and a good starting point for the tracks history is available for listening here.
Secondary to the track's broululz, discussions about J-Dilla's competency in general are taking place here & here.
Gay rappers? C'mon... XXLmag.com's Byron Crawford speculates about what & who could be the male homosexual sequel to Superhead's outing.
In MTV's multi-artist article (scroll down about 1/2 way)Lloyd Banks reinforces his loyalty in discussing his role in G-Unit.
Looking for Eminem on Crank Yankers video (calling to get tattoo for his daughter)?
Jewelmoney asks, at Detroitrap.com's forum, "Does Detroit stand behind their artist[s]?" A 3 day discussion between artists & fans covering everything from the specific topic to ways performers can enhance their visibility.
jewelmoney:"...( a concert for Detroit Music Artists ) HAS THIS MUTHAFUCKA FROM ATLANTA NAME DOLLA PERFORMING....... WHAT THE FUCK......
We have a rapper name DOLLAH right here in Detroit."
DJ Muthafuckin Babe:"Rabs said some real shit, for reals for real...
But Rabs I have one comment to make - in Detroit not too many, if no artist ever have merch to sell at shows."
RZA is getting chess website launched soon. I just registered. Rza's goal is to get Hip Hoppers to "think first before you move" in chess & in life. The website Wuchess.com hasn't launched yet, but is expected in a few weeks. The first 500 registered get a "The Founders" special rank.

Jay Z & the Minister Louis Farrakhan look alike. They have more in common too! I've met both men & they both were wearing the baddest pair of gators I've ever seen. Judge for yourself:
